Personal Data Processing and Data Protection
Data that contains personal information has to be handled according to certain regulations, note that:
- All research projects that involve processing of personal data must be registered in PULU (Personal Data Lund University), access requires VPN connection. See a guide to the PULU form here: https://www.staff.lu.se/pulu-guide. Information on personal data and data protection can be found on the Staff Pages.
- Information where extra protection is necessary, must be stored in a secure location. For example, this may apply to sensitive personal data, included in interviews (audio files and transcriptions) or survey responses, and attached consent documents. The data may need to be stored in a strongbox or on a secure server. https://www.staff.lu.se/researchdata-storage
- It must be decided how code- and encryption keys are to be managed.
Faculty Data Protection Coordinators
Each faculty has one or more faculty data protection coordinators who are part of a university-wide network, together with LU's data protection officer, other data protection coordinators, and the data protection lawyer. HT's faculty data protection coordinators are the first point of contact for HT employees seeking support and advice on issues related to personal data processing and the handling of data subjects' rights.
The HT faculties have two faculty data protection coordinators, each focusing on different areas.
