Datadilemmas: Social Media

Tuesday 6 October kl. 13.00-15.00 (Zoom)

What challenges may you encounter when researching social media? What issues and aspects must be taken into consideration when handling such research data? We invite you to a discussion based on examples from research projects at the Joint Faculties of Humanities and Theology and the Faculty of Social Sciences. Anna W. Gustafsson, senior lecturer in the Swedish language, contributes with examples of using data from the Sweden Democrats’ social media comment sections, and from blogs about cancer. Nils Gustafsson, researcher at the Department of Strategic Communication, will focus on Facebook and other platforms from a research data perspective. Lund University experts on ethical and legal issues, data protection and information security, will also be there.

For employees at the Joint Faculties of Humanities and Theology and the Faculty of Social Sciences. Please register your interest to forskningsstodhtbibl.luse or refsambib.luse, by 29 September.
